We start our ride at farm Flaga where our herd has been resting for 2 days after the highland trails of part 4. We ride along Vatnsdalsá river and to farm Þingeyrar where we leave the horses and drive to Laugarbakki community centre for the night. We will stay all nights at Laugarbakki on this part of the dream tour, nice big spacious dining area and good beds for all riders with showers and a small hottub for relaxing in the evenings.

Today is the day when we experience one of the highlights of all our tours. Crossing lake Hóp at a crossing of 2-3 km long. We start crossing Þingeyrarsandur and come to the crossing of the lake after about an hour ride across the sand. We ride through the lake on flying tölt, enjoying the horses being happy about the the soft grounds and splashing water. On the other side of the lake we have our lunch and take a good break before turning back for another fun ride across the lake.

We ride along the banks of lake Hóp and the river Víðidalsá which we cross several times during the day. Great trails along the riverbanks take us to farm Stóra Ásgeirsá where we leave the horses and drive back to our base at Laugarbakki.

We ride from Stóra Ásgeirsá along the river Víðidalsá up to valley Fitjárdalur and then to Miðfjörður where we keep on riding river banks, now following river Miðfjarðará until our destination in the valley where we leave the horses and head back to base at Laugarbakki.

We ride down along Miðfjarðará on soft riverbanks as before on this part of the Dream tour. We come to our destination at our farm Reynhólar wich is our operating base in the west and where part of the Saltvík herd is spending the winter on nice fields with good natural shelters in the hilly landscape of Reynhólar.

In the evening we celebrate our journey and as well the final ride of the whole Dream tour 2025!
